Aloha Reunion

Aloha Reunion

I’m watching this guy’s house on the big island of Hawaii. He drops by and we get to talking. Turns out he owns half of the island with all the awesome beaches. One day I make my way to that side of the island and end up on a huge cruise ship where I use the laundry facility to wash my work shirts. The last shirt that I put into the washer is the one on my back.

I decide to get some exercise and walk around the ship and pool area. This is where I run into old classmates and co-workers. Some of them I can only recall their first or last name. X Youngquist, Darron from NCR, Wendy X, some girl from KWHS asks me if I have any candy. I say no because I thought I didn’t but later remember that I left a bag of assorted hard candies in my bag in the laundry room. I cannot for the life of my remember her name but I can see her face as plain as day.

Then I woke up.

The Barnacle - Dream

I was in the Florida Keys at a boat ramp. I jumped in the water and started swimming out to sea. A nice shiny 28 foot fishing boat idled past me so I grabbed onto the boarding rail on the stern. The captain saw me and sped up a little and then slowed down. I told him he had a nice boat. He thanked me and then turned away. I then asked if I could fish with him. He said yes, so I climbed aboard and off we went. We sped through this tunnel and off to the left was a Marine Patrol hiding. He was writing a ticket to another boater. He flashed his light so we had to stop. The captain pulled over and tied up to a teak dock and walked to the officer’s vessel. I stayed with the boat. The captain was speeding through the tunnel so he knew a ticket was in order. This process took about 20 minutes and we were on our way. I looked down at my left hand to see what appeared to be blackish grey spots on my palm. It was actually barnacles! I scraped them off and sprayed my hand with Windex. Then I woke up.

Squack This is the police! - Dream

Yet another dream in the Florida Keys. I was house sitting for a friend of mine named Jeanie Zelaska. I had never watched their house before and they had some elaborate alarm system. I was leaving one day and it was beeping like it was going to go off and notify the cops. I didn’t know the secret code to tell the monitoring company when the called to check if everything was OK. I went back in the house and called the owner.
She didn’t answer, so I went next door and asked the neighbor for help. Of course he didn’t know the secret code nor the pin # to disable the alarm system. We looked at the instructions for a while. We ended up attempting to build a nesting box for a pair of birds.
Then I woke up.

Look Ma! No hands - Dream

I was living back in the keys with my parents. For some odd reason I had the urge to fly, so I bought a hang glider and rigged a 4 cycle weed whacker engine and propeller on it. I could fly it with no problem. My mom wanted to try it one day. I rigged her into the harness and got her airborne. She did fine until she tried to go too high. A sudden gust of wind got her off kilter and she crashed into the water close to a nearby concrete dock.
She was unharmed but very flustered and wet.

Niles Channel Bridge - Dream

I was in the Keys driving North over the Niles Channel Bridge. It was night time and I was having a problem steering. The vehicle seemed to want to steer to the left into oncoming traffic even though I had the wheel cranked hard to the right.

There are two vehicles ahead of me a car and then a SUV towing a cargo trailer.
All of a sudden the SUV jack knifes the cargo trailer and stuff flies out.
They stop on the highest point of the bridge. It then becomes daytime for some reason and I swerve to the right barely missing the passenger getting out of the SUV.

Then I woke up because I thought that I heard the cat puke on the floor. I was unable to locate the ghastly upchuck on the new carpet.

Hotel California... - Dream

I was at some fancy schmancy hotel somewhere waiting in the check in area. I had my reservations in my hand and accidentally walked up to a desk. This young kid who was manning the desk looked up at me and said “ I don’t process those here” I said “ What kind of customer service is that, you should have said “ How may I help you, sir?” I walked away and someone else behind a desk said something to me that wasn’t to my liking. I got a little more annoyed and got louder about how the service was severely lacking in this establishment. Finally a big wig manager shows up and says “Upgrade him to a suite”
At that point I said “ that’s how it is it done folks. An applause roared from the other patrons in the lobby. All of a sudden I have people in football jerseys coming up to me wanting to shake my hand. I think they believe I am some star. Then I woke up.

Miami Bound! - Dream

In this dream, I was living back in the keys at my parents’ house and working at the local Summerland ACE hardware store. I was visiting my brother and his girlfriend in Miami. They were in the process of buying a 5 bedroom house in Miami. Towards the end of the dream everyone decides that I am going to live in the house with my bro and his girl and commute 1:15 minutes to work in the keys. We all know the drive is considerably longer than that, but this is my dream. Then I woke up.

Picnic on Tarpon Belly

I was in the keys and the family had decided to picnic on Tarpon Belly, which is a series of 3 islands with two deep channels in between them. It used to be a fish farm at one time.
One of my co-workers (Michael Lemon) catches the last boat to the island with a commercial fisherman I knew on Summerland. I end up swimming around Summerland Key to the main highway (US1) where I stop by my favorite bait and tackle store. I need to buy some chips for the picnic. I end up paying $3.24 for a small bag of Tostitos scoops. I pay for it with a soaking wet $5 bill (wet from my swim around the island) and am on my way. Somehow, I end up getting a ride with this middle age guy down blimp road to his house. He’s going to loan me his 12 ft Jon boat with a 15 HP Mariner outboard so I can get to the party/picnic on Tarpon Belly. Halfway down the road to his house, we see a puff of smoke. Someone has started a fire in a white 55 gallon drum right on the edge of the road. We just barely make it by without dipping the truck in the water to the right. The gas tank is half full and the boat has water in it. The 3 drawer tackle box in the boat has no clasp to hold the lid to the bottom. I had to grab the tackle box by the bottom and top to lift it out of the boat. Finally I shove off from the dock and start the motor and begin to idle away from the dock. I then hear two kids say they need rides to the local college to take a networking class that I supposedly teach there. I tell them that they’ll have to find their own ride. I bring the boat up on a plane and wake up.

Yet Another Keys Dream

You'd think I lived there.

I was at my friend Scott Pillar's house on Park Drive on Summerland Key, FL. All of his family were there hanging out. We were getting ready to go out for some water sports on his boat.
It turns out that he had recently been to the Philippines and had some ritual done where they embed a small crab in his neck. His brothers were in the other room digging the crab out of his neck. Outside on the dock, there were about a dozen loaded spear guns.
