Lot-O-Hooks - Dream

In this dream my parents owned a house on a beach somewhere. Every night we would take walks on the beach and enjoy the sunset. The tide was out this evening and a private dock/pier was totally exposed underneath. I could see many fishing hooks stuck under the dock that were still in good condition. I had my fishing pliers with me in shorts and proceeded to cut the fishing line that bound the hooks to the dock. This took sometime but I eventually had removed all the hooks. I reached the end of the pier closest to the beach to find about 20 chartreuse bomber lures all in pristine condition hooked to the bottom of the pier. I thought to myself “wow, I’ve hit the jackpot!” I carefully unhooked the lures from the dock and put them in a bucket I was using to haul the hooks. My parents had since headed back to the house as their neighbor was putting on a play for them.

I walk past where the play is going on to find that it was over. The playwright had some comments for me in the credits that I saw as I walked by the outdoor stage area. Mom and Dad were watching the credits. I could tell that she was mad at me, so I kept on walking to the house.

When I arrived, my brother and Adrian, a kid we knew in the Keys, were there washing dishes. I went around the back of the house near the pool to drop off my bucket and entered the rear of the house through the sliding glass doors. Adrian handed me a small white net as I walked in the door. I promptly inspected the net and dropped it into the hook bucket.

Shortly thereafter Mom and Dad came home arguing as they walked in the front door.

That’s when I woke up…. Right around the time when the cat puked on the floor and Carol rose to clean it. I think that was around 3:11 am.

Niles Channel Bridge - Dream

I was in the Keys driving North over the Niles Channel Bridge. It was night time and I was having a problem steering. The vehicle seemed to want to steer to the left into oncoming traffic even though I had the wheel cranked hard to the right.

There are two vehicles ahead of me a car and then a SUV towing a cargo trailer.
All of a sudden the SUV jack knifes the cargo trailer and stuff flies out.
They stop on the highest point of the bridge. It then becomes daytime for some reason and I swerve to the right barely missing the passenger getting out of the SUV.

Then I woke up because I thought that I heard the cat puke on the floor. I was unable to locate the ghastly upchuck on the new carpet.

Artsy - Dream

My sticker had expired on the truck, so I went to get it renewed. It turns out that I went on the wrong day. I am called out of line by this Highway Patrol Officer who asks me a few questions. I knew I was in trouble and did my best to hide it but he saw right through me. I ended up being sent to a different line which was at my high school.

My Neighbor is teaching an art class to many of my former classmates. They asked my why I was here. I said I had already renewed the sticker on my truck but I was told by the officer that I had to be in this line. I wasn’t sure why. I then said “But If I had not ended up in this line, I wouldn’t have been able to see my old classmates again. They all went “awe how sweet”.

The teacher handed out a picture that we had to copy but the lines were not detailed. I took it to a window so I could let the light shine through and trace the edges. One of the girl classmates joined me at the window, but then we couldn’t hear what the teacher was saying so we went back to our desks. That class ended and I wasn’t sure where to go next. It was just like every year of high school… lost for a week until I figured out where my classes were.

This nice man who was building a house in the Cayman Islands helped me find my next class. It was in a room where a bar was setup around 3 sides. They made me a cranberry drink and toasted a bagel. I don’t recall asking for any of this.

Then I woke Up.

Shots fired!! - Dream

I was in some city with kids in the back seat of one of those huge cars. I think it was a caprice classic. All of a sudden I see a guy I knew in high school (Jonathon Jolly) get rough with a security guard. He tells him to get outta my face. The guard doesn’t so Jolly pulls a gun and shoots the guard in the gut multiple times. I tell the kids in the backseat to duck down in the car. I didn’t want to start the car for fear of getting someone killed in my car. We then hear automatic weapon fire. I peek my head up to see another guy I knew from high school firing a weapon into the air. Then I woke up.

New additions...*snicker*

I thought that title would get your attention.. haha!

Some time ago I ordered one of these for my truck. I was just able to get it installed this past weekend.

While some may think it is gaudy, I like the fact that there no way someone can NOT know when I'm stopping or turning or backing up.

Check out the video

That is all... you may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Subject: Freecycle(tm)DurhamNC OFFER - Fisher Price Knee/Elbow pads, SW Durham

I have to offer a pair of Fisher Price knee/elbow pads. They were
bought as a package with a safety helmet when my son was a
preschooler. But now, the pink/purple colors are no longer appealing
to him. Pick up is in SW Durham, near the intersection of 54 and 751.

I really think that we over protect kids these days. Come on....a safety helmet AND knee and shoulder pads?

I'm pretty sure none of us had this gear when growing up and we turned out OK.
If a kid doesn't get hurt once in a while they're going to grow up as wussies.
